Final playgroup, Christmas Party, 6 December

Hi Everyone

My apologies for not making it to the outing last week. I got snowed-under with work for another org I volunteer for, and it just wasn't happening that morning :-)

The next playgroup is the Junction Park Playgroup's final playgroup, on Tuesday 6 December, and we'll be having a Christmas Party at the hall. There will be a treasure hunt, gifts for the kids, games, and a shared morning tea. Please feel free to bring a not-as-healthy plate of food to share.

I hope everyone enjoyed free-painting last playgroup, I've put some pictures of the day below.

We are still looking for two volunteers, a volunteer coordinator and a contact person, to continue the playgroup for next year.

On 6 December will be the last playgroup, and we will be having a chocolate-treasure hunt followed by a mini Christmas party. Please let me know if you are planning on attending to secure a Christmas gift for your children.

Next playgroup Tue 15 November, call for volunteers

Hi everyone

It was a great turn-out last playgroup, I trust that everyone enjoyed learning new scissor and gluing skills. Some pictures of the day are below.

Next year neither Liz nor I will be able to run the Tuesday playgroup, and so we are on the look-out for a new playgroup coordinator and contact person. There is no obligation to follow the routines that have been used so far, you can remake playgroup according to your own vision, and the new coordinator is free to make playgroup as simple or as involved as they like. I am happy to provide craft templates and remaining ready-to-go activities. If you'd like to chat about this feel free to email me or phone and we'll make a time to meet-up.

If no one steps forward before the end of the year, we will contact Playgroups Queensland to have the playgroup shut-down. An email will be sent to all members once the outcome is known.

Next playgroup

Next playgroup is Tue 15 November, and it is scheduled to be craft and play followed by a trip to Annerley Library for story time. Craft will be free-painting.

Next playgroup

The next playgroup is Tue 25 October and it is scheduled to be an outing. The outing will be to Captain Burke Park under the Story Bridge, and I will aim to be there from 9.30am.

The easiest way to get there is via the Inner City Ferry (the purple line below) and get off at the Holman St stop. The Inner City Ferry has stops at North Quay, Southbank 3, the Maritime Museum and Eagle Street Pier.

Hi Everyone

After last week's outing I can definitely recommend the Kids Corner at the State Library for a rainy morning. It has a lovely space with craft activities lined up around the edges, plenty of South Pacific Islands themed toys including small boats, and at around 10.30 am there was a live musician.

Don't forget that this Saturday at 11 am is the Stones Corner Kindy Fete. A flyer is below.

Next playgroup is Tuesday 30 August, and it is scheduled to be an outing. However due to the wet weather lately, I am going to propose that we keep a back-up plan in case of wet weather. So the plan is as follows:-

If it is dry, we will meet at the Picnic Island playground at Southbank.

If it is wet, we will meet at the State Library Kids Corner.

I will send out an email on Monday night to let you know, based upon the weather report, which venue we'll meet at, or you can ring me on the number in your email.

Hi everyone

We had a great day at GoMA and the weather was lovely for our picnic on the hill. I'm sorry to those who had illnesses and other things that prevented them from coming, I'll see if I can find a way to replicate some of the activities for another time.

Next playgroup

The next playgroup is Tuesday 2 August and it is scheduled to be a craft activity followed by a shared morning tea. Please bring along a small healthy snack to share (cut fruit, sandwiches, etc). Craft will be painting with spray bottles.

Welcome to our new members, I hope you enjoyed your visit and you'll come again. Unfortunately I lost my camera so I couldn't take any photos of the activity today! I'll get a new one soon ...

Next Playgroup

The next playgroup is Tuesday 26 July and it is an outing day. For those of you who have gone through the booking process, we're going to do Toddler Tuesday at GoMA from 10 am to 10.45 am, and then we'll have a picnic lunch on the lawn out the front from 11.00 am.

For those of you who missed out on the getting the booking in, I'm sorry about that. I did try to coordinate our group going in together, but it didn't work out as it should. I recommend that you come along to GoMA anyway, as there are free children's activities downstairs in the children's area. We can meet you on the lawn from 11, and weather permitting we'll hopefully enjoy some winter sun and lunch together.

The next playgroup is Tuesday 19 July and it is scheduled to be a small craft activity at the hall followed by a trip to Annerley Library. This week's craft activity will be subitising, gluing numerals and colouring.

Hi everyone

I hope you all enjoyed the break. Our household has finally recovered from that lengthy cold that was going around, so playgroup will resume tomorrow as usual.

Next playgroup

The next playgroup will be tomorrow, Tuesday 12 July. It is scheduled to be a short craft activity followed up outdoor play in the school playground next door. We'll be making little penguins from recycled paper rolls.

Hi Everyone

Thank you all for organising to keep the playgroup going while we've been away sick. It sounds like you all fun.

The school holidays are coming up and so the next playgroup will be the last until 12 July.

Next playgroup

The next playgroup will be Tuesday 28 June, and it will be an outing to the Gallery of Modern Art for the children's surrealism activities. There is also a ticketed surrealism exhibition on, however one does not need to purchase a ticket to participate in the children's activities. GoMA opens at 10 am.

The rerun of the 'Little People' activity went well, and I've posted some photographs from the day on the blog.

The 10 am session for the Toddler Tuesday on 26 July has now been fully booked, so some of you may receive an offer for the 11 am session. At least one of us is booked into that session, so you may wish to take that session instead.

Next Playgroup

The next playgroup will be Tuesday 14 June. It is scheduled to be a short craft activity (paper roll penguins) followed by a play at the Junction Park Primary School 'junior playground' next door.
